Prep Time5 minsCook Time10 minsTotal Time15 mins
Ingredients (for 2–3 servings)
150 g of good quality whole oat flakes
300 ml plant-based milk (almond, oat, or soy)
 300 ml of water
 1 pinch of sea salt
 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 apple or pear, thinly sliced
 2 tablespoons of pomegranate seeds
 30 g chopped raw almonds
 30 g chopped pistachios
1–2 tablespoons honey or Med Cuisine medjool date syrup (optional, for sweetening)
Lemon or orange zest for extra aroma
Step-by-step porridge preparation
1

Cook the base of the porridge. In a medium saucepan, add the oat flakes along with the water and plant-based milk. Add a pinch of sea salt to enhance the flavor. Bring the mixture to medium heat and stir gently until it begins to boil. This preparation follows the philosophy of balanced and natural cooking characteristic of Med Cuisine, where simple ingredients are transformed into dishes full of flavor and well-being.

2

Monitor the texture during cooking. Once the porridge begins to boil, reduce the heat and cook for about 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. The oats will absorb the liquid until you achieve a creamy texture. If you prefer a more liquid consistency, you can add a little more water or plant-based milk during cooking.

3

Add the tahini. When the porridge is hot and has reached the desired texture, add a tablespoon of Med Cuisine tahini and mix well until completely blended. The tahini adds creaminess, a slight toasted flavor, and extra protein and healthy fats, enhancing both the flavor and nutritional value of the dish.

4

Flavor and let stand. Add the ground cinnamon and stir gently. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the porridge stand for 1–2 minutes to allow the flavors to settle and the texture to become even creamier.

5

Prepare the accompaniments. While the porridge is resting, wash and slice the fresh fruit into thin slices. Chop the nuts and prepare the pomegranate seeds and citrus zest, which will add freshness, color, and contrast to the dish.

6

Serve and finish with date syrup. Serve the porridge hot in individual bowls. Add the fruit, nuts, and seeds on top, and finish with a drizzle of date syrup to taste. This finishing touch adds a natural, balanced sweetness that perfectly complements the tahini and spices.
